I’ve been seeing a lot of these, which is good because they are very pretty. Yesterday, however, I saw one that must have been the base trim without the “Thor’s Hammer” LED’s. Up until now, I had thought the LED’s were standard, as I hadn’t seen an XC90 without them. Now, I don’t normally think headlight lenses make or break a design, and some cars actually look better with base lamps (Current 3-series, Silverado).... but this just seems cheap to me. The lack of chrome in the grille and smaller wheels don’t help either. Not a fan... I think the hammer LED’s are enough of a brand-signature now that they should be standard even if the base price goes up a bit.

I’m actually doing a Volvo design project right now making a pair of pliers and I’m thinking of putting this on the handle.
